omg i read novel spoilers and its twisted af and confusing LOL like the husband is a lapdog of the crown prince, was commanded to marry FL to strengthen crown prince power, husband did not love her initially but fell in love with her bc shes sweet and caring and loving, husband realized he cant touch her (bc shes sick and "belonged" to crown prince) so he found a mistress that looks like her so he can do all the shit he fantasize about FL to the mistress, husband became psycho (or maybe hes always been one) and we found out FLs death is due to husband poisoning her so he can transfer her soul to a healthy body, and the mistress is actually FL's twin and can do magic so she transferred FL soul to her body (we dk the reason but im assuming she felt bad for the FL so she did it to reveal husbands true nature), but lets talk about it character by character to understand the plot better (take this with a grain of salt tho this is what i understood from the spoilers)

Crown Prince

psycho maniac. husband is his lapdog. he's engaged to another girl that can strengthen his position, but he's in love with FL and FL family is powerful too and can strengthen his position and so he ordered husband to marry FL, and later on when he becomes emperor he plans to make FL his official mistress. he's so deranged like necrophiliac omg there was a scene where its revealed he didnt gaf if FL is alive or not he just wanted beautiful ppl to be like dolls, and thats why husband preserve FL's body.

Husband
-yes he's garbage, but a simp psycho garbage. as i stated earlier, he is the crown prince lapdog and only followed crown prince orders bc he cares about his reputation and everything he owns can be taken away in an instant if he disobeys orders. he did love the FL. but he's more worried about disobeying crown prince orders. after FL's death, he started taking drugs and alcohol to hallucinate FL and FL in mistress body discovered that he's doing this shit to make himself feel better for taking a mistress and he's hallucinating shit that FL has forgiven her for that. so FL in mistress body was disgusted but took this as an opportunity to manipulate him and pretended to be her in her OG body.

FL
once her soul transferred to mistress body, she discovered that his husband aint shit and cant forgive him and so she started investigating the true source of her death. mistress had a diary detailing her affair and promise to garbage husband that once FL dies, he would officially welcome her as a mistress. FL used this knowledge to her advantage and said she will not become her mistress and husband needs to marry her (husband agrees but kept delaying the marriage bc he rly doesnt want to). FL's family love her a lot so shes planning on sending a wedding invititation to her family to ruin husbands reputation that he's gonna marry the mistress and that he HAD a mistress even tho it hurts her that shes gonna be hated bc shes in that mistress body. He did not care for mistress at all but when FL took over her body he started falling in love bc shes similar to how FL acted. Idk what happened after lol thats as far as the spoilers go i guesd

Mistress

actually FL's twin omg, separated at birth for reasons i dont remember. but she thought FL had a good life and was jealous of her so shes actuslly proud that she became husbands mistress. Jokes on her bc husband only took her in for his sexual fantasies for FL and also once again a tool for the crown prince to strengthen his position. Mistress is officially married to the old Count and they were planning on killing him and make mistress the Countess bc the Count had like a mining property or some shit. Anyways mistress discovered that FL actually did NAWT have a good life (she snucked in to the husbands mansion to show off to FL but saw FL sick af and realized how she did not have a good life) and after that she overheard the crown prince and husband talking about their plans, how both her and FL are only tools for crown prince and idk what happened after that, im assuming its what triggered her to transfer FL's soul to her body.

2nd prince

ray of sunshine!!! well not rly but he's the ML lol. so he's actually the emperor's favorite and wants him to be the emperor but did not have many supporters bc hes not a scheming bitch like the crown prince and garbage husband. Anyways so he actually already met FL when they were younger and they had their first dance together, but FL for some reason has a hazy memory and thought it was garbage husband who dance with her. I think there was a letter that ML wrote to FL when they were younger and FL thought it was the husband who sent it, and husband has like a confidant that can mimic the ML's handwriting so ever since then husband would send letters to FL but the confidant is the one writing it. Oh also ML was sent to war due to husbands suggestion to the emperor, and the emperor only agreed bc he thought that would strengthen ML's position bc he knows he strong af and can win the war. With ML away at war this made it easier for husband to manipulate FL. ML initially did not like FL in mistress body bc well, shes a mistress who hurt FL lol but noticed her mannerism and attitude and personality is identical to FL so he started liking her. He initially did not believe that FL is dead but when he saw FL's preserved dead body, he was abt to commit suicide but FL in mistress body revealed her true identity so that prevented his suicide and they started scheming for revenge and investigating more after that.
