I believe she took Alyssa’s place after seeing how loved she was. She uses dark magic (or something similar) so others see her as Alyssa, the sister they adored. And my assumption is that she used the same magic to make Alyssa appear as her and make everyone think she was the white haired girl (forgot her name lol) and they already hated her beforehand.

See? That’s what’s confusing. So, this chapter is supposed to show that Marianne was black haired girl and Alyssa was white-haired originally, but if that was true then 1. How did the manipulate their memories? 2. Why does MC see herself as black haired girl as well? And people outside her family (like her best friend) 3. Why is Marianne already white haired when she’s meeting the family and at that time already being hated?
Idk, it just doesn’t make sense to me

Or is the mirror supposed to show how she appears to others? Cause usually mirrors are used that way in stories to show true self. That would make more sense, but idk for me it’s still confusing

I believe the mirrored reflection is what others see. As for how the magic is and such I don’t think we know yet/aren’t supposed to know

I heard people say that Alyssa was actually white-haired, that mirror scene really is quite unclear
