They got married in the past. In the mc's past life he married the dragon. Which is why the dragon have been protecting his family all this time amd then he fell asleep while waiting but after so many years passed he forgot the face of the one he got married to. But now after all the issue of the dragon getting sick n all and after he came back I'm assuming he remembered what happened in the past while mc forgot his memories lol
