I want to hate him, but I kinda... Can't?
Before Yvonne he really couldn't properly have heart to heart moments with Penelope.
Reynold at least was unapologetically hateful in the beginning. It's easier to deal with that, because it's so honest and direct.
But Derrick is weird, most times he's bad to Penelope, but then he goes and does something thoughtful that betrays how much she's actually in his mind
Now after Yvonne it's like someone who already had shit in their plate, was forced to eat it
He wasn't great at dealing with his emotions, then someone else comes and makes it even WORSE
I wanna hate the guy, but lately it hasn't been his choice to act like this
He's honestly just a tool being used by Yvonne
I don't think Penelope should forgive him, bc he was manipulated
I guess I judge Derrick's character before Yvonne and I find him lacking
But I hate seeing anyone being robbed of their agency, so I don't fault him for these horrid shit he did in the latest chapters
Still don't like him, still don't think he's worth Penelope's time, though
