I read this in the official English app too, and it's technically a weekly release? Like the chapters are split into parts and one part is released a week. That being said, there hasn't been an update in the official app a while...
I think I may have figured it out. It seems in Japanese the chapters release monthly, which translates to weekly episodic releases for English. A new chapter was actually just posted today, so I assume the English release is coming soon!! ^^
Volume 1 is getting a physical publication in English in 2025, which I'm really looking forward to. I'm not sure how many chapters will be included
