if you look a bit further back in the comments, some ppl have spoilers and have explained it too.
from what i understood, the life uke remembers is actually his second life (where he was best friend and going to school with the ml) their first life was actually the story he read, he thought it was fiction but it happened and he doesn’t remember it. ml snuck the book to him, and ml actually remembers. so now, they’re on their third life, and mc doesn’t remember their first and thinks he’s transmigrated. ml remembers all the lives i think, and he’s trying to redeem himself for fucking up so badly in the first life (the abusive fake ‘story’ that mc read were all real events, i think the uke killed himself?? he for sure threatened to do it bc the ml was a fucking nightmare initially in their first life)
but i’ve also read spoilers of ppl who have read the novel saying that mc actually has a dissociative disorder, so while everything in the novel was actually his first life, it was so traumatic that he created his own world (the one he thinks he came from, happy school life and family) to escape that original world. this third ‘life’ is just heemin dragging him back into the ‘real’ world via the novel that he gave him earlier. as im typing this out, im just making myself more confused lolol. but yeah happy ending confirmed.
the novel does have a happy ending with wedding side stories! (i haven't continued it in a while but he's preggo on their wedding)

Also, please let me know if the novel was a happy ending and do they have kids and any side stories???
