I think it is because of the prastie being removed from his body? Remember he is not fully elf but half, human half elf o his skin color will not be the same as the full fledged elf. That’s just my guess. Hehe

i'm sorry, did i missed it or does the author changed the skin color of ivan? or it's a trait coz he's grown up now that his skin color changed? i hope i didnt offend anyone since i genuinely confused
