I get Wataru was anxious, but it felt silly how he kept pushing off Minato because he could stay with him "forever" as a best friend. If someone is love with you and you reject them, they also don't have any obligation to stay with you just to satiate your desire to maintain your friendship with them. This was cute, but I did think Wataru was being rather childish about the reason why he couldn't be with Minato.
