i've read a lot of stories and i don't think it's that bad (this is coming from me, who's not that rly impressionable and just takes fiction as it is) since it is just another take on the typical bl/yaoi trope

the loud bad reputation it has is most likely bc of how popular the artist is (cuz they're def a great illustrator and made a prev popular manhwa bj alex) which makes it more open to hatred

Bad is subjective. It all depends on preferences. Some ppl like some fiction, others don’t. It’s not a big deal. People can like or not like whatever fiction they want. Only young readers who haven’t read enough fictions are overreacting.

It really isn’t that bad. Okay compared to other BL’s the character depths is a bit lacking and yea the ML is shit. BUT COMPARED TO OTHER ML’S IVE SEEN??? ppl complaining about Jaekyung being the worst ML HAS NOT SEEN SHIT. Sure he’s horrible but I’ve seen WAYY WORSE. Art is good, and it seems like a redemption arc is coming so that’s good. I think ppl who hate on it are mostly woke ppl who are infants at reading romance with toxic relationships cause they haven’t seen shit. And the “romanticizing abuse” thing ppl talk about is complete bullshit.
Don’t even jet me started on the fact they use the “fiction effect reality” excuse when they know DAMN WELL they be saying the complete opposite when it comes to shit they like.
If you ask me, it never seemed like the artist was tryna “romanticize” a toxic relationship because if she was, Kim Dan wouldn’t have left. But then it also depends on season 2 and whether or not jaekyung realizes he fucked up.
Like compared to “Minho” from “A terrible romance” Jaekyung is a complete SAINT. And since the author has written red flags before which ended up pretty well (bj Alex) and I’m saying this because I’ve seen ppl who like Bj Alex but completely shit on Jinx, we just need to let the story develop a little more, and I for 1 am excited to see what season 2 has to offer.
