The artist really dropped the biggest bomb (they have cancer) and continued as if it was completely normal, then goes and says pls don’t use illegal sites and damn I wish I could buy this now but I’m broke and I feel guilty af

I mean it IS in fact their version of normal
Cancer is an illness that impacts one's whole life, even if you overcome it. People with cancer have to accept it as a part of their lives, or it will eat them up. And fortunately, medical science has evolved so much that cancer patients can live far more comfortably and "normal" than they could before.
It is still really hard and they are so strong for going on despite this horrible disease, but it's not as scary as it was like 20 years ago.
I've had family members who fought cancer +20 years ago and I have friends who are fighting cancer now, and I can see the difference vividly.

Right. It’s a different kind of normal than for us. It’s their everyday they live with and they learn to live with if possible. I’ve lost several family members to cancer and one of them had it four times starting from her thirties to her last battle with it in her eighties. My brother is currently going through it now and has been for over a year. Unfortunately his has him bedridden for the past seven months. It’s normal for us (the ones fighting it and the ones supporting them) but not always everyone else.

Sweetie, I don't mean to be insensitive
I am sorry to hear that you've been through such tragedy
I have as well lost three family members, one lover and one friend to cancer
When I said "less scary" I just meant that there are a lot more cancer survivors nowadays than it was back then
And the people who are fighting cancer now are more comfortable because of better treatments and communities that exist now
I wouldn't dare say that cancer is not scary
    I apologize if I created a misunderstanding
