It's frustrating how people always sympathize with female leads who are neglected by their husbands, but when the roles are reversed, they suddenly think the guy who was neglected is at fault. Girl she was basically threatened into this marriage? Yo they were ready to wage a war on her people had she declined the offer. And after she discovers,the Duke is the man she met at her garden,fl tries to meet up with ml only for him to not show his face until & unless they're married. I think she has all rights to be angry with him. I understand the Duke may have been stuck in a difficult circumstance but he never even offered her an explanation in the 2 years they were married. He ever only tried appeasing her by fulfilling her demands and didn't actually apologize to her.Honestly they're both equally prey to their circumstances. I don't know why y'all think fl is childish for behaving that way. No one's even really blaming the ml.
FL defenders are honestly worse than Joo Jaekyung apologists, and I'm saying this with my whole heart. If the only argument people have in favor of the FL is the marriage, then please, give me something stronger. Yes, both characters were manipulated, but let’s not forget he had it far worse. Why are we ignoring the fact that he was neglected, told things like "I hate you" and "I never loved you" with a look of disgust, and repeatedly rejected? She knew all of this, which is why she wanted to give him a better life. She, herself, realized how badly she treated the ml when all the ml did was be kind to her. But that doesn't mean her actions should be excused. Yes, she was threatened, and yes, she had every right to be angry, but did the ML abuse her? No. Did he neglect her? No. He tried to respect her boundaries. Did he force her into things she didn’t want? No. Did he ever say anything hurtful to her despite all the cruel things she said to him? No. In the end, he even sacrificed himself just to protect her. God I am tired.
I wanted to stay silent but you are really trying real hard to make fl villain one sidedly without accounting for what she was going through whole time and why she never noticed or more like acknowledged ml's efforts so let me tell you something fl is a dying person she would have wanted to spend her last times with people she loved and cared about but what happened? She was threatened with annihilation of her family by ml's brother and ml was nowhere to be found when she needed him for answers like why is she going through this when her life is about to end she was literally and royally bullied as a matter of fact by ml's brother and even after later when they met ml didn't even once open his mouth and gave her clear answers because HE THINKS HE DOESN'T DESERVE HER and fl still having none of her questions answered and thinking male lead is just a loyal dog of the emperor who can whenever start a war with her family. How could she have died peacefully knowing there's a threat to her family and that threat is the very big bro ml is being loyal to. And only lot later did male lead sacrifice his heart and when he did fl got all her questions answered and(it is spoiler read further only if you want to) the reason for his absence was only because he was suffering from life threatening magical illness and was in bed and would not have been saved if he didn't marry fl so ml's brother forced her but now that brother did and said all the fucked up things to fl and saw fl suffering emotionally which was exactly like his mother? I forgot that part but it had something to do with his trauma anyways he unilaterally decided he would not tell or clear misunderstanding of fl. Also unless you've coughed up blood or was in near death situation I don't think you'll ever understand fl's perspective like people like me(I've been close to death because of a sickness myself and tried to accept that if one thing goes wrong i might really die also all the physical trauma i suffered from illness made me so irritable that whenever a sad memory popped up i would cry and blame my parents saying "i hate you" you didn't let me do stuff i wanted to and now I'm abt to die." well nvm the point is mature people who know what it's like to accept you're going to die and wishing people she care about peace for example "don't struggle to cure me" "I know I'll die so let me pass away peacefully without everyone discomforting themselves but the very reason fl wanted to stop finding a cure was to let her brother live his own life rather than looking after her all time but guess what now that very brother's life is in danger and marraige to fl just felt like an excuse to start a war. Fl is just annoying or more like irritable just like any normal sick person who's about to die but you can hardly understand that well I never wish you understand it the hard way(like i did) but try to be more mindful about what you say because clearly you would be making fool of yourself out in the world.
