He didn't meet her at all as the grand duke before or after marriage talks all while being housed as a guest her castle, not meeting her at all thats disrespect number one
He introduced himself under an alias , now some may say 'uhm actually she just assumed he didn't lie" no he didn't introduce himself he waltzed into the private garden of the princess whos kingdom he was visiting and didn't introduce himself thats disrespect number 2 lying by omissions
Then not answering her letter amd stopping even the secret meetings , we with our godly perspective know the king burned rhe letter before it could even reach the duke but she doesn't know that, from her point of view Castle staff handed the letter over to the dukes servants so obviously he got it , ignoring her letter and attempts at meeting disrespect number 3
Then the biggest one by far when marriage talks got halted declaring war , which if it had happened would have put thousands of innocent at risk and her family (eg brother going to war) , the audacity to threaten war while simultaneously being at the royal castle is astonishing disrespect number 4
All lot off you in the comments are mad that she closed herself off from him ignored him but we only see this as unfair because we see the complete setting not just her perspective she only has her point of view to go off on if the Story was only her perspective with zero cut away to scenes were she is not (eg the one were the king burned the letter / eg her birth) then we would probably be on her side But thats not the case by doing so we have a main character (Female lead) that seems to make the best possible decision from her perspective ( eg. stopping the war by accepting the marriage) but still falling short of our expectations cause WE the audience knows the king is shady shady slime shady eh
Like they truly only met twice in the garden, when she walked into him and when he came back while she was on a swing and then they danced a bit , no truly deep or revealing conversation (i mean yeah he said he was a monster and she went 'yeah me too also im dying' like yeah ok whats your favourite colour? Gonna try that to and get called a cringe girlfailure)
Like she is allowed to be bitter, from her view she meant a servant boy got along well the suddenly a marriage proposal turns out my man is the duke??? Can i meet him like what's up? No? Why? I can only met him after marriage? What? What????! WAR?! nonono id rather marry him than risk my family *dude processes to not show up for marriage*
Like imma be real if it was me id have killed myself the moment i was alone in my new crib or in front of him to change the trajectory of his life forever im that petty and grudge holding
So her staying in the annex to not see the man she didn't want to marry, who strictly declined on seeing her before marriage, is actually kinda poetic justice esque like mirror motion there is a repetition girls
Ha... your comment is very satisfy to read. This is what I also thinking. ML might have his own reason but he keep shutting his mouth and create every misunderstanding things. For FL pov she has every right to mad at him. She must be feel like 'so you are buying me like this?'
