Female companion

It was good until the female companion/romance interest showed up. Why is it always a female companion? Why can't a male MC have a male companion? Males can make male friends as well sometimes there bond is even stronger than male-female friendship.

I know right!!! Sometimes some manwha get ruin when they appear because it mostly focus on them then the MC at times. Its like they never heard of best friends or loyal male friends that can be close to each other

Agreed when a female appears they draw attention to her boobs and ass. And they are all over the mc and don't even help him. They are only there for fanservice which people don't even like because they are reading for the action not romance. Meanwhile on the rare few where the mc has a male companion if the mc has trouble they use their resources to help him, the mc doesn't have to do everything by himself. And if the mc helps them they find things that he needs in order to return the favor instead of thinking asking the mc on a date is repayment like the females do. The difference between female and male companions is so obvious it's frustrating. Hopefully more manwha with male companion rather than female are made but honestly I doubt it.

    Seriously ?
She appears no more than 2/3chapters, and she’s also very different from chinese novel big boob no brain girls ? She’s not the kind to be carried and neither does she play weakly. And well, she’s not sticking around either :)
I do understand where you come from, though
It’s truly hard not too dislike most « female intrusions «  in action stories as there are just so bad
but i also feel like it’s throwing the baby with the bath water : romance is neither bad or good in itself, it as always been used to build stories and can be a powerful too drive a plot. Isn’t it that what we’re complaining about is more some (very bad) kind of fan service than romance itself ?
In that case, it would make sense that quite a few of these « romance hater » wouldn’t mind or enjoy male/male relationships in the same stories ?

What’s truly unbearable is these toxic representation of the partner - in most case, a female partner - who is needy, dependent, vulnerable when not totally useless, and of course behaving like a stan or the MC’s owner etc. It basically depicts nasty dung female glued to the super male, waiting to become a valid reproductive engine in order to give them a reason to be - the whole equation seems so so wrong

Personaly, I dislike these sexist and misogynistic representation of women
Of course I absolutely dislike those needy useless companions, in the name of the fan service

I understand how you can avoid part of this problem when the companion is male, as the archetypes tends to differ, but I think it’s pretty sad if the only way to read decent relationships, with equal partners, is to turn to yaoi interpretations : that certainly isn’t going to help women define new healthy archetypes for themselves :/

Ps : as for this title, It yet to be proved, but the girl who appeared in this story was pretty much ok so far, that’s pretty refreshing as it seems much needed to read about girls that can make you proud of being a woman wether in life or in romantic situations

I mean just because a male mc has a male companion it doesn't lead to yaoi interpretations that's on you. For example in Genius Archer's Streaming the mc has a male friend/companion who is helping him in his times of need and the mc also helps his friend, there is no yaoi interpretations. Have you not seen male companions/friends it's just brotherhood.

The problem with females as shown by many writers is that they fall in love with the mc as soon as they see their strength, now if they interact little by little and the female shows interest on mcs personality and they are not all over the mc it's more acceptable. Like you said if only the writers make the females less clingy and useless and don't fall in love with the mc so fast it will most likely make people's opinions of female companions change.

Because of the stereotypes and representation shown by many writers when I see a female appear I prepare myself for them to be clingy and fanservice later on, which it actually happens a lot. It ruins the story by taking away from the action to focus on unnecessary things. This one might be different but I'm just preparing myself to not be disappointed later on like it has happened many times. Also if I wanted to see romance I would just go to the romance tag not the action tag. I'm here for the action, if the romance is good I might stay but it's not my main interest.
