Seems like you really don't get it. You called him cold but didn't have to make a funeral for his brother he could have threw the corpse away and let some animals eat the corpse thats what I called cold. Also she don't suit being a ruler at all cause she keep bursting out all her emotions. Seeing how she was always messing with mc in his territory and she in the organization and how the way she been acting since they first showed her looks like nobody taught her how to act like a royal. I see him more as a Realist while the older brother was a idealist. Politics ain't no joke when they go back home they probably won't even have anytime to have a funeral for there older brother because piles of work and dealing with the nobles trying to cut them down.
I'm pretty sure he's shouldering the responsibility and suppressing his actual feelings rather than actually not caring.
Not sure what the reason is for needing to hold the funeral as soon as possible. To me this guy comes across as rational and politically manipulative, but not unfeeling.
Pretty sure before all this the three siblings got along too, but if both siblings that are left are emotional messes then the empire would be less stable and all sorts of power manipulations would be even worse than they already will be since the crown prince just died.
Honestly while I understand her grief this chapter made my dislike for Elena grow... exponentially.
About the reason... I have 2 possible ones...
1st... they just fought an undead army and a lich. In such circumstances I'd also have the funeral as soon as possible.
2nd... I think there was something wrong with him. He wasn't among the undead army, the blue pop-up about a corrupted soul, he making sure the fire doesn't go out with the rain and his "I hope the soul will safely rest in the embreace of the gods."... those make me think he'd become a lich or some sort of powerful undead and cause chaos if he was brought to the capital for the funeral.
But maybe I'm reading too much into it.
Sounds on point to me. Likely trying to protect Elena by not telling her and letting her hate him.
This is for sure not one of her best moments. I don't dislike her, especially since she's grieving and that messes with people, but it definitely feels like she's naive, spoiled, and protected from the realities of being royalty.
Yep... Idk... from the beginning it felt like being a princess is just a title to make her have the same social standing as mc. The classic runaway princess that thinks the world revolves around her. I do get the grief and that people go through it in different ways. But I also know some people "use it" as an excuse for unreasonable behavior and hurting others without consequences.
Honestly, to me, her behavior was utterly disrespectful. To everyone. The departed, the brother, the soldiers and everyone that lost someone in that war. She shows no dignity, responsibility and mentality of someone of a royal family.
This is not why I dislike her, is just one of the many reasons that have been accumulating from the beginning. All in all.. she feels kinda brainless and drags mc to clean her mess relatively frequently (compared to the other girls). In part is the disappointment because how she was made to look cool in the start but is actually... a brainless bimbo that just do whatever she wants...
I don't get it, is the brother lying to her or not? Did he hold the funeral there because he wanted to hide how the crown prince died? Or so that he is not remembered in the capital for long? I don't get it... Also I think she would make a better ruler that her brother would ever be... Because she may still not be mature enough, but a ruler cannot be as cold as her brother is, those are the kind of rulers that see their people die and feel nothing...
