Right, but the dad in this isn't bad. I only know three where Dad doesn't ignore his other kids and treats them well. I know six, but three of them are light novels. I read a few with the mom in the picture, or an adopted mom, and the son and father get along instead of fighting for the mom's attention. Or the mother is trying to build the relationship between the daughter and father. There are a couple where the ML is the brother taking care of his siblings(s), and the MC is the helper/nanny/fake mom. Read a few where the MC is reborn into a better family than her previous one, with her mom intact. But these are all I count on one hand or both.

I somehow feel like Manhua has a lot more lousy family relationships, like the Dad waiting for the mom to die and brings home his second secret family that treats his daughter as shit. Or the family is terrible, and MC is trying to take of her sick mother/dad/grandma/grandpa.

Exactly, it's also because of daddy's issue and Mary sue complex, they want FL to be only one deserving and receiving love because they're girl, they want for FL to be one connecting family with just her cuteness because "obviously" only cute and smart girls deserve father's love, they don't even see anything wrong with the fact that their father and brothers are not in good terms with each other and they fight over daughter/sister like she's their savior, it's complex and it's insane to me

You're right, I didn't really read this one because first chapter was enough for me to throw me off and I really dislike daughter - father manhwas right now, I had enough of it, I want to see family shit or mother - daughter at least but it's really difficult to find
Most of historical/fantasy manhwas authors don't want to see any women around because of pure jealousy, sister, mother, friend, saintess, princess, empress, most of the time those are villains in those type of stories and you can clearly tell what they all have in common or what their goal is (hint: man)

In this one, the father loved the MC's mother, but the priestess (who reincarnated) got in the way and pushed the mom to leave (stupid, I know), believing it for the best.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who sees the problem with shoujo manhwas these days. One thing is sure the authors definitely hate sister-sister relationships, I've yet to read one where the MC even when they have a good relationship spends 1/10th of the time she spends with her brothers or ML. Let's not talk about the dead mother part or evil step sisters, or brothers and father going all googoogaga on the MC because she's adorable or she's the only girl in the family. Int he case there is a second daughter, she is guaranteed to be a bitch and the actual villain of the story

I've seen it more in Manhua (especially Ancient China) than in Manhwa, with an equal amount of horrible parents or weak-minded parents who need to follow the grandparent's orders.

It is almost certain that at least in manhwas 90% of the time, if the MC has a sister, she's definitely gonna be a bitch (evil step sisters)

I'm not saying you are wrong. Both can be true. I'm just saying I see a lot in Manhua, but it depends on the manhwa I'm reading. When I read Manhua Instant Death or Rape ploy set up by sister, stepsister, stepmom, Aunt, Dad (which usually follows the Wife, aka Stepmom), Grandma, and friend, also, mc get betrayed, it also in dramas, too.

They're exactly type of people that would blame mistress and call her homewrecker and then go back to their man, saying he was just bewitched, they have no self esteem and they absolutely hate attention on other women, they want to be always one in spotlight, so all their female characters except FL are just side characters, they can't even stand for their own MCs to have close female friends, sisters without making them evil, men-hungry hyenas omg, so weird

Worst part is people are eating it, this is very popular type of story, it's shoujo, most of the readers are ofc girls/women, they don't see anything wrong with it and even call female characters "Bitches" if it's evil male character God forbid he's drawn as handsome, they would fight urge not the mention his face every single comment and go off to say something like "I can change him" eww

Most of these writers are female, but some follow a popular cliche pattern, like how the female usually chose the cold Ml instead of the second one. Also, the sister is typically the problem, but so is the family, which generally takes the evil sister's side. They can't make a happy family; honestly, I wonder if this is an outlet from their own family or, again, following a popular pattern. In Manhua, the ones I read, at least everyone gets targeted if they wrong the protagonist. The mom, dad, ex-friend, ex-signing others, uncles, aunts, cousins, brothers, sisters, random strangers, it just bitch slapping after bitch slapping (it slightly tiring).

It can be the same with manga and manhwa, but that depends on what I read, as I don't read a lot of modern manhwa romance. I'm over the place with manga as long as it piques my interest. Through manga and manhwa, I find more siblings (especially sister and sister) that get along, even if it is in the background, than in Manhua. Like in Manhua (which can be the same for the other two), brothers hate each other when one is jealous of the MC, planning to kill or ruin them or steal their girl. So, at least, it reflects the female one. Also, it is not like only Asia does this; Western media also does, too, and African dramas (those are wild).
