There's a slow romance tag for a reason lol. I personally think the novel is really good despite the slow start. It's 200+ chapters long after all, so perhaps some people just don't have the patience for slowburn and will not find it as enjoyable as others.
It's not the slow burn though that made me lose my patience. No Moral was a slow burn too but you can feel the main characters' chemistry early on, you feel something. I was already in chapter 33 and felt nothing from the 2 characters in the novel version. There's still more but I just didn't want to write a long ass comment. I will look forward to the manhwa version though because the reason might be the writing style, the way they worded things or stuff like that because I really like the plot.
I see. If it's the way it's written that you disliked, it can't be helped. I would drop a series if it wasn't well written or well translated too.
But I just wanted to say that you haven't reached the good part yet. Volume 1 did feel long and wordy, but once you reach volume 2, the romance will start kicking in and it becomes good.
I want to get to that point ╥﹏╥ I really did try to ignore the things that I didn't like because I really wanted to read it but it exhausted me somehow lol. Subtle romance and slow burn is exciting but if you make it too wordy and you're just going around in circles, it makes the story dragging, like adding some irrelevant stuff that doesn't add value to the plot or repeating a flashback that could've been included in a previous flashback like it was okay if it was a different POV but it wasn't. I wrote a comment there in Novel updates that explains a bit more why I didn't like it. Maybe I'll get back to it when I have more time and energy to invest. Sometimes it also depends on the mood lol.
So I read the Novel because I couldn't wait for ch5 and unfortunately I couldn't get past ch33. The way it was written was meh. The author was very detailed with the swimming thing, I'd give em that but nothing more. So I wish the manhwa version will redeem it for me, then I'll know if it was the story or how it was written that made me lose my patience lol
