Well in this situation he did do something wrong, lied when he shouldn’t have. But I still agree that he tends to apologize in other situations despite not being wrong.
Kang has a point. Why is Yiyoung feeling guilty and apologizing if there’s nothing to apologize for? He’s trying to find the truth and Yi has yet to tell him that his friend has been hitting on him.
but there IS something to apologize for. even though he still hasn’t said that his friend was hitting on him, yiyoung still told him that he lied, which is something worth apologizing for. i totally get your points, i just disagree completely with “apologizing when there’s nothing to apologize for,” especially with the way kang is doing it
this communication to me feels very similar to gaslighting. it’s why i don’t like it. he should know how yiyoung is, given that they’ve been together for a bit. i myself am someone who says sorry a lot, so i definitely can empathize with yiyoung. if he senses that there’s more, he should not be asking like that. yiyoung communicated first, and a lot of people don’t see that. in my opinion, bad communication is just as harmful as no communication.
idk why ppl are confused as to why yiyoung is apologizing. like did u not read the entire story? that’s his character. he’s naive. even if he didn’t do anything wrong, he’s apologizing because he also feels bad. the fact he felt bad SHOWS he was able to realize that he shouldn’t have done that. it honestly pisses me off that there’s ppl who turn an apology into an insinuation of wrongdoing or lying. it doesn’t sit right. it’s not right of mr. kang to turn it into something like that.
