Yiyoung needs development

YIYOUNG: I won’t hear anything else. He’s bothering me with the way he’s so…careless, it worries me. Is nobody concerned with how careless he is? Alright, just me I guess. And how does a partner not realize another partner is insecure about their age? There were big hints of it in main story and now here.

Before anyone says anything, Yiyoung is not a bad person at all and he is a good partner, maybe too much at times, but he should be a more of good partner by setting boundaries with someone who clearly likes him, and not, you know, go over to them when invited, despite your partner’s disapproval. Not just for his partner, but for his own sake. Or go together with your partner.

Him having lack of dating experience doesn’t mean he’s not capable of thinking. Clearly he knew it was wrong to be hanging out with someone who likes him.

KANG: he shouldn’t have said some stuff he said, but he was being logical and honest. It is hurtful to hear that, but resolving it via verbal communication is way better than miscommunication and angry sex (Kang this is to you). I’d rather have a honest partner over lying and manipulative douchebag. Of course I do hope he apologizes and they discuss it more thoroughly. Nor do I justify what Kang said. Both of them having different life experience adds to this conflict, and on top of it— Kang has insecurities!

He does not need to be any more jealous than he already is. Is it not more childish to make your partner jealous by going on date with someone who’s trying to get in your pants? Not towards Yiyoung, but those in comments who support it. I hope people aren’t seriously supporting borderline cheating.

DOYEON: I need that Doyeon dude to F off. He’s not respecting what Yiyoung said about being with someone else. I dislike him the most. Honestly, Yiyoung should’ve told him it was Kang and be more strict about the boundaries.

Like dude couldn’t have called anyone else? He had to call someone he hit on and knew not even for a week? Yiyoung shouldn’t have given him his #. He’s pissing me off (not Yiyoung, but Doyeon).

Finally someone who also thinks this!

The whole jealousy thing actually doesn't solve anything and makes things worse. And I know it's dramatic because it's a webtoon but it gets on my nerves when in the first part they were doing good. Love the long essay too!

Lmao thanks! I get a heart attack every time I see notification, thinking someone hating my essay. Haha.

It’s honestly not dramatic, it’s just how people feel and that’s totally fine. I really dislike people who say it’s just fiction, not that deep, and more, they’re invalidating how we feel as readers.

We resonate with stories and thus our feelings come out. This is a pretty realistic story. It makes us happy, then pisses us off, repeat.

You’re right, the whole jealousy only led to angry sex, which was not needed. This fueled jealousy in Kang, and his won partner doesn’t assure him (or he did but I forgot.) and doesn’t realize Kang has insecurities?

Their relationship would be nearly perfect if Kang’s insecurities were discussed. It’s so uncomfortable seeing a partner not feeling comfortable. I’m sure Yiyoung means no harm, not directly.

A comment like this with logic and maturity - I don’t mind the essay read personally lol. Kang being insecure is also a point I previously commented on as well. Everybody keeps not wanting to acknowledge that - probably because he is an older seme (emphasis on “seme”) and the common bias’s on this site seem to only allow empathy for insecurity when it comes from the uke’s in these stories. Yiyoung needs to show some maturity, as likable as he is, he needs to step up and set boundaries. Kang never said anything that was horrible!
in fact is was so real it caught Yiyoung off guard and hurt his feelings and Kang hasn't had the chance to explain to the inexperienced much younger tunnel visioned Yiyoung how he doesn't expect him to want be with a man so much older than him forever. Even hetero age gap relationships will sometimes have this insecurity hang over them. Its common. I wasn't surprised when yiyoung lied just disappointed, korean shows and comics always portray the characters casually lying and not being transparent in both their romantic and familial relationships even when its something very serious to something not that big of deal which is a common cliche for them. Fingers crossed this doesn't get dragged out too much longer (this particular lie scenario) or have Kang act in a forceful aggressive manner(another over used cliche) so they can finally talk this over so we move on.

Love your response. lol the shade towards bottom/top positions, it’s very much double standards that is happening. If it was Kang making Yiyoung jealous while ignoring Yiyoung’s disapproval of him going over to another cute guy’s home who is trying to get Kang’s D, the comment section would be less lenient.

Yiyoung being less experienced in dating does not justify the lying and hanging with someone he knows is crossing the lines. People may call me dramatic or thinking too deeply, but this is a story I resonate with.

I have dealt with partners that have little to no boundaries, and careless as well. I’ve tried to communicate but to no avail. I hope they talk things out and it won’t be dragged on like you said.

Lying while being with someone is really icky. Yiyoung won’t get a pass regardless of the sex roles. I love him, but I want him to discuss Kang’s insecurities, that is all.

Just saw recent spoiler in comment section. Boy am I more annoyed to know the full context of raws, sigh:

Again, Yiyoung is really careless. And all I got from this is that I hate Doyeon.

Don’t scroll down if you don’t want spoilers. It’s similar to the spoilers I said in my post:

“YiYoung is a sweetheart and went to save this drunk ass from some damn club. Brought him home to and was about to leave when the dude poured him a glass and told him to drink it ... I don't blame Yi here for drinking it. Doyeon is older and he is fully using it. Also, Yi has been trying to put a physical distance btw them, which is huge for Yi who is totally oblivious to his surroundings sometimes... anyway ... after the galss Doyeon said they should order food and Yi declined that he has to go, so D proceeds to try and guilt trip him for leaving him to eat alone last time. Yi still says he is going to leave so D says "I'll let you go if you call me Hyung".”

I dont mind spoilers. But this sounds like again Yi is not using good judgement or even common sense. Like he isn't friends with this guy, he just met him and see’s he’s pushy. Why would you keep putting yourself in positions to be alone with him.
If anything Kang should be the one to get him from a club while he’s drunk and
take him home smh ( ̄へ ̄)Im not blaming Yi if anything happens but pointing out he’s making stupid decisions (like the lying) that can result in an uncomfortable or dangerous situation, Plus cause more misunderstandings in his relationship that is already having that issue.

Okay so I found out why Yiyoung didn’t let Kang come. This makes sense. So basically Doyeon lied to Yiyoung about Kang not knowing that he’s gay, and Doyeon is at the gay bar, so if Kang picked him up, he’d know.

In reality, Kang knows. Yiyoung just doesn’t know he knows.

So the real problem is Doyeon, he’s pissing me off. Yiyoung is careless of course still and Kang’s insecurities are at peak .

I made a post earlier about the updated spoilers, it’s not the most accurate translation though but also based off raw observations. If you want to check all future chapters raw spoiler:

I feel you on dealing with partners like that in my case just 1 who was careless and didn't establish boundaries. Once was enough for me and never again. It’s such a unnecessary thing to become an issue in a relationship and easily solvable but not for the silly, selfish, or weak/passive minded people. Its gets turned into a mountain issue when its shouldn't get bigger than a mole hill And in this case looks like its going to get dragged out longer in the story. What I really wish we get to see is these getting COMFORTABLE with each other so that they feel more organic as a couple and not some random troublemaking
    third wheel causing unnecessary problems.

Right now some are really trying to turn what Kang asked in the recent chapter against him. All he did was ask a question, god forbid he asks! But Yiyoung gets a quick pass, meanwhile I’ve seen MLs do something similar and get beaten.

Honestly I’m not even too mad Yi lied but the double standards gets me heated.

Exactly! We don’t need some third party dude to interfere and be the catalyst. I really really really hope it won’t be dragged out. I hope the sequel isn’t that long, just one forking season should suffice!

Thanks for the link. I read it. Im disappointed. Kang and Yi started on a horrible note in the BEGINNING. Kang was a jerk at first (Typical) but we moved SOOOOOOO far from that. Forcing sex out of jealousy and your partner uncomfortably, reluctantly going along with it while internally saying how they dont want it, is sad. Making characters likable and then turning them into rapists after you’ve grown to like them is weird move on these writers. Its twisted - even if it’s prevalent in manga, again an unnecessary and cliche move smh. Another manga im reading “mad dog”? I think its called - did the same thing in the extra’s smh which leaves a sour taste for me but anyways Kang’s insecurities in this relationship is the most interesting part, Doyeon being thrown in wasnt needed to dive into that issue. It just makes it messy early in their new relationship. And why is he so damn persistent with Yi! Like he’s not reciprocating your advances have some pride and move on predator damn!

Preach! Mad dog omg I know that one, it’s manhua right? The art is beautiful but then I saw the side stories and I’m sad by the rape, it’s normalized and brushed aside too.

Doyeon is bothering me a lot for sure besides that
