Reaction: He begins to wonder why Ines chose him this time when she always chose other men. He wonders what does these two men mean to Ines.
Carcel is really an intelligent guy. He puts a lot of facts together and basically figures it out. As soon as he meets the painter in Bilboa, he knew immediately that Ines initially chose him to use him and dump him. But Carcel is a truly good person at heart so he still sides with Ines and understands why she chose to use him. Now that he found out the truth, he wants to rid Ines of the crown prince so she doesn’t have to be forced to choose anyone as a shield because he wants her to be truly happy.

If you look at all the timelines that will be revealed, Carcel loves her over and over again in a selfless way. She never even knew he loved her. He just quietly does what he can to protect her and never force his feelings on her. I can’t love like him. I will always put myself first. lol
