Got to chapter 55 and am dropping because the story just isn't that interesting. It just feels like a nothing burger... I don't FEEL the main character's motivations (trying to not die obviously, but there doesn't seem to be a lot of weight placed in that) and the relationships she does create with people are rather shallow and one dimensional along with the characters themselves (maybe you could excuse this by the fact that the mc is traumatized from her past life, but that doesn't explain why the characters themseleves lack personality + depth). Her past life seems really interesting to me compared to the life she is living now for this story, and I wish they could use her past life to develop her character and depth a little more, give her more texture/flavor. Right now it's just generic blegh of omg these kids are so cute and they deserve the world (totally agree! But I could care less about that for a story... sorry not sorry). And the main male interest has so much potential for depth too: he's the brother of the previous emperor who mysteriously died after the empress' death, and now some asshat is the emperor because they had mote precedence compared to the brother (bc he is a bastard child) but at the end of the day he had a strong comradery with his half brother and cares for his nephew a lot. The fact that he "failed" to go through his promise of taking care of his nephew for the first 8 years of his life would stir up a lot of turmoil and self doubt. It just feels like this man is cardboard in personality... like he's good looking, powerful (arch duke so second most powerful rank in typical kingdoms/empires) and kind, but like his motivations are so bland/not expressed very well. It's ok for the mc not to know for the plot but like I'd like the author to show the reader what motivates his actions too. And that applies to EVERY character in my opinion. The "mystery" in this story is a weak bandaid for plot holes and bad writing. Just fucking SHOW the motivations of these characters and like UGH. Anyways thanks for coming to my ted talk. I am dropping this comic :^9
