I get what youre saying and im not trying to disagree with you. But I think he meant he didn't see Shiba as a man, he just saw Shiba as Shiba in response to his brothers concern of there being difficulties with the both of them being men. Like "other ppl may see us as 2 men but it's just 2 ppl who love each other to me". I admit it did catch me off guard at first when he said that though
Shiba is just too unrealistically childish and whiny. Didn’t really feel like a love story between two men. Another victim of the dreaded “must make the uke act like a stereotypical anime schoolgirl” syndrome. The senpai literally admitting he doesn’t even see Shiba as an actual man really seals the deal.
