This trope of abandoned daughter can be so cringey if handled carelessly. The quality of this webtoon obviously isn’t the best and it falls under the cliche category so there are a lot of cringe worthy moments.

It’s the same trope as Penelope but that one will feel completely different because its of much higher quality.
Nevertheless this webtoon isn’t bad either.
For now I like MC’s nonchalant behaviour towards her fam

Author is obviously on the path of whitewashing them, I bet she will use the same old excuse of them having been under the influence of magic or sum.
I liked how in “I raised a tyrant” mc’s fam had no excuse and she left them behind to live chocking with regret.
I wished we saw that kind of development more often

At least she isn’t getting back with the crown prince. I’m happy with ML, he looks the best and his personality is masculine, that’s what she needs

Not sure what u mean by whitewashing them? But if u like it when the MC doesn’t cave and forgive their family, try reading “No place for a Fake Princess”. The manhwa isn’t completed yet but from what I’ve heard she doesn’t forgive her family completely or stay with them

Whitewashing like justifying their unfair treatment of her by making up excuses. So far the excuses used were; the adopted parents didn’t knew how badly she was being treated right under their noses despite having banished her to the guest house the minute she was taken in for whatever bs reason, the siblings simply “misunderstood” her and weren’t inherently bad ppl so she’s not allowed to hold it against them, like that eventually all is forgiven.
They even stood by when she was executed and never cared to defend her in the events leading up to that, we’re not to the point in the story to find out the excuse for that but it’s all the same thing.
Everyone else is innocent and she will be seen as petty for holding grudges and wanting nothing to do with them.
She will be pressured into giving in and suddenly considering these ppl her fam despite finally being capable of leaving their asses behind.
Like that neither her nor us as readers will get closure.
The problem with this trope is that MC lowkey gets treated as the delulu one for her very real experiences and her fam who abused her are supposedly good hearted.
Very problematic and I think it’s brainwashing tactics aimed at the female youth.

Yhhhh, not to be rude but that isnt what whitewashing is. Its where you take a non white character and make them white

Whitewashing has two meanings btw, it depends on the context u apply it in. This version of it is actually older than the racist one
