agreed but sometimes already completed webtoons specifically have daily pass so ppl come here to read them.
Agree. And it's getting out of control too. It used to be you uploaded the official if the group stopped working on it, but only the chapters after they stopped, or if the translation was truly heinous. Nowadays, uploaders have taken to mostly/only uploading official translations. Sometimes over the scanlation teams one or just uploading the whole official version starting from chapter 1 again. Then they have the nerve to say "buy it when it comes available in your area", but the uploader has already uploaded the entire official translation!! Other readers don't have much motivation to go buy the official since they are getting it here for free. The admins at MG should really put a stop to re-uploading OTs if chapters for that manga already exists. Honestly, it no longer feels like fans helping fans, but people doing it for the clout, likes, and follows.
What’s crazier, I saw webtoons on here… WEBTOONS. That whole app is free and on English (and serval other languages). The biggest nuisance there is the daily pass thing the previous comment mentioned where you can read only one ch per day which also isn’t that bad but I can see it being troublesome.
So free, English translations on app where authors are directly getting paid per view and yet the comics are here too… it’s kinda icky for me
Yep, seen that too. This really started to irritate me months ago when I noticed the fan scanlations disappearing from this site and the officials taking over. I miss the scanlations as they are/were fans too, so they would often add their little notes/comments in story, most were humorous and some were informative, again fans being fans helping fans, which officials do not include since they are officials and are doing it for monetary reasons/values. I was reading one story and the scanlation team stopped translating several chapters in due to it being picked up for an official release. Well, the uploader who uploaded the scanlation removed those and replaced them with the officials. And it was one of the good scanlation teams out there ,too, that they replaced!! It was barely any difference in translation!! Their excuse when I called them out on it -- "I thought people would appreciate the officials more". Then let them go buy it!! :-( And don't get me started about the notifications for chapters I'd already read before officials took over this site. I think that's why these days, I've switched to reading more Chinese manhuas. The translations aren't perfect, but at least they're not besieged with people constantly battling to upload the official version.

Agreed!! I love translation notes so much by the scanlation teams, they're funny as hell, and some even put memes related to the chapter which just makes it so much more fun to read. I remember this one action manhwa, the character mentioned a word and the t/n note below it was that, that word is the name of their fav hentai LMAOO
Yes!! I was reading a BL/Yaoi story and the translator would post her reactions and notes on the chapters and at the end she would include hilarious memes to reference what we just read. A huge part of the reason I continued reading that story was due her memes. I also miss when some scan teams would include parts of their chats at the end showcasing their process as they translate, their interactions, and their reactions to the storyline. Fun times that I miss with all.the officials taking over this site.
Yess omg i totally forgot about those chat ss they were soo funny to read!! I remember this all being there in 2021 after that it slowly started disappearing and now it's so rare to come across such stuff ಠ﹏ಠ
Free comics that are already available online with official English translation should not be here, maybe first chapter (or five) only to promote it but otherwise nah.
