    No, it was explained in the older chapters. I forgot which one. Lanbo always thought of the white cat as his husband. So when they reunited, he called him "randi"

    Randi is from merfolks language which means cat with a pink paw and Lanbo is the Chinese pronunciation of Rimbaud which is the merman's name
