i don’t think the fact that he was SAed excuses the fact that he left a literal baby in the hands of an abuser. the very least he could’ve done is leave him in the care of someone sane, he didn’t give a shit abt etienne and that shows how much apathy he has for people that don’t serve his own interest. he’s such a piece of shit man i hate him so much
Nah he is trash. He abandoned an innocent child to a manipulator and hated the child for years because the child wasnt able to defend themselves from being used. He as a grown adult couldn't even stop her and he said "yeah let's leave the kid with the worst influences and be mad at how they turn out". He had years on FUCKING YEARS to help him but instead ignored, downplayed, and neglected HIS child all while training another child to fit his hopes and aspirations. The mc had numerous flash backs to of himself as a young child trying to interact with his own father just to be ignored. To make things worse he has so many physical traits that resemble the emperor. Its like watching yourself go through different torture at a younger age and covering your eyes and saying la la la to cancel out the sound. He is terrible to both the mc and ml. He deserved pity for at least the year of the incident but after that he deserves nothing but to be dethroned, stoned, have his head cut off. Obviously the empress too but he is too damn old to be acting like he is 10.
i really hate how the emperor treats etienne but i can’t really blame him because he was literally forced into a marriage and got r@ped. i really appreciate the representation of male victims (with female perpetrators) in such a manhwa. you wouldn’t usually expect such a dark and heavy theme in this kind of manhwa (at least i do). anyway, i loved this manhwa so much ahhh the development is everything to me. hope i get to see the emperor finally appreciating and apologizng to etienne
