So basically from what i could understand, FL and the childhood friend (hunter) dated for a bit bc he still liked her but he ended up cheating on her so they broke up.
William would show up randomly and eventually FL moved to Seattle to go to uni there bc it rains a lot (the wardrobe only opens when it rains). She wanted to see him more and eventually they start dating. He would sometimes attend class with her.
Hunter tried to kiss her and she pushed him away, crying to ML that she kissed hunter. She thought he didn’t care because of his lack of reaction, but he said he was jealous and promised to be with her, but cant mess up history. He went back to his time to write macbeth and set up everything up. He had Anne’s lover take up his identity. Whenever William time traveled Anne’s lover was the one who acted in place of William. The portraits of William in history were actually of Anne’s lover earlier in the story.
ML returns with jewels to sell and they buy a house together. They both become writers and FL writes their story into a novel.
