Opinions on Rashta?

I've been reading The Remarried Empress on webtoon, and the comments are filled with Rashta hate. I don't want the webtoon folks to riot against me so I'll say it here: I don't hate Rashta. While she has done many bad things, I feel like they're understandable, though not justifiable. An escaped slave who manages to stumble on her ticket out of her enslavement. She doesn't want to go back, so she needs to keep Sovieshu's attention on her so she won't be discarded. She has no clue how the political world works, and in some ways, she's still a slave, barely having any say over her life. She's a sympathetic character to me. What are y'all's thoughts?
