I made it to the latest ch which is ch 119. I enjoyed reading this.
In the beginning though, I thought MC would struggle more and expected he’d be sabotaged and facing off with that Dr who couldn’t treat In Cho’s older brother who had tetanus. Wasn’t this the same dr who charged a lot or only served rich clients? I actually thought we’d get around that. Not to mention he had his eyes on a girl who is yet to come of age. But then, the story shifted and focused on treating the kisaeng with syphilis, and moved on.
I expected MC would struggle with his reputation, doubts, or disdain or anger from people who believed the false rumors, even resorting to hurt him, whether instigated by the other party or not. I don’t think that happened though xD It may have not happened to the common people, however, I did like how this or something close to it was shown when he was treating someone from a noble family, a highly influential person, and the chancellor’s wife. I don’t think there was reason to warrant such negative reactions from the common folk when MC began treating people from a poor village. It’s hard to ruin such a chivalrous and kind deed with just false rumors, add to that he successfully treated people who were deemed to die so I get that it’s unnecessary.
I still liked the story. I think I’m just peeved that the dr got away scot free? Yeah, I don’t remember seeing him suffer tbh (￣∇￣")
