Penelope only cares about herself because no one ELSE will care about herself. Not like she can trust her shitload of a "family" to have her back, definitely not the dead carcass she calls her mother. What, as if any of the love interests ACTUALLY care for her? She KNOWS she isn't going to be the object of anyones affection anytime soon, why bother trying to be kind to people who won't do the same to her? Of course this is a flawed logic, but yall keep saying to help the poor and ignoring the fact she IS the POOR. SHES THE ONE THAT NEEDS HELP. She KNOWS that. But she also knows no ones coming to help her, so she'll have to fend for herself. But that comes at the cost of being nice to ACTUAL nice people. Thats why she's a VILLAINESS. Because she's an anti hero to the kind and loving female lead. She's flawed but well written. Please give me more where this came from and less of the quirky relatable mcs please theyre getting so repetitive and annoying.

Hard agree and also want to add I’ve been reading webcomics and manga and manhwa for almost 15 years (and have read countless things spanning all genres) and Penelope realizing she is acting like the villainess she had grown into during the Eclise scene when he brings Yvonne back is literally some of the most well done and intelligent writing I’ve ever experienced. Like this is a masterpiece of a work, and Penelope’s character is so intense and well thought out!!
This. This is ACTUAL villainesses. Everyone bitchin about eris, aria and penelole when this is LITERALLY WHAT THE PREMIS OF *VILLAINESS* MANHWAS. I feel so stupid seeing people read these and yap about bad characters when theyre literally some of the best written mcs out here. Not every mc has to be likeable to you to be well written. Its the same with every character in fiction.
