I think he was adopted by one of the people at the church! :)
Yes I realise he was adopted only after he grew up by the argente head who is one of the two main families/cardinal fighting for power in the whole ( corrupt) religious church. They wanted to use him after knowing his worth but they and the church still treat him like shit
Wasn’t he an orphan?! Since the beginning they stated that they are orphans and the church took them because no one will ask about them, how come now he has a family and is the heir to the Argente family which is a noble too?!
