Am I the only one who thinks it’s weird to expect Harper to be Patroclus’s reincarnation? This is clearly supposed to be a story about moving on. How did you expect Harper to go “yeah, I’m your past lover and I forgive what happened in the past, but since I’m alive now let’s move on and live happily ever after?”
I know that there’s definitely a number of reincarnation stories out there, but did you really expect this to be one of them? Also even if that turns out to be the case, Patroclus wasn’t even immortal in his first life, so how can you expect him to be together with Achilles/Adrian in reincarnation
While I am glad that Harper also turned out to be immortal and not just an ordinary human, I do have to admit the choice is a bit unusual? Like, Hermes the god of communication? While I do understand that’s what makes him social, was he really lonely all this time? I’m not saying this has to be something like Percy Jackson, but did he really not have any communication with his godly siblings? Or are they dead/nonexistant in this story? While I do kinda wish that Harper was a different mythological character (but also I can’t think of anyone else who could be Harper), I just think it’s weird that he doesn’t seem to have a family support system? Unless he also came into being like Achilles did and never had a family? And we humans just made up his family as part of our myths and legends since people with special abilities can only be gods and related to each other somehow? Thankfully he does have someone to talk sense into him, but still
