honestly with any omegaverse trope or trope with a debt collector and guaranteer, just know there will be a TON of rape
even though i love the characters, storytelling, and relationship developments… the graphic sa and brutal treatment of the ml/others towards the mc is extremely triggering. the short answer for “is this story good” is if you can turn a blind eye to the ml’s actions- then sure. but imo he hasn’t done enough repenting to make up for a fraction for what he’s done. if you don’t mind dark romance then go for this, but just be warned it’s not lighthearted and fans do overly romanticize the ml lol
you gotta be more transparent because his redemption arc was really mid in comparison to his crimes and actions. i say this because you’re setting others up for high expectations going into this . im all for groveling and extremely apologetic/begging male leads but this guy did the bare minimum. he basically got a slap on the wrist
It's really hard to hate the seme because his personality is so charming. The redemption arc is good because it's clear that he is realizing how he feels and how he cant go back fix his mistakes. When I re read it I actually feel like he's not that bad... he's a gangster and they do bad things, he actually treats him great compared to other debtors even before he realized he loved him.if you don't like gang or mob stories with grey morality, don't read it. But besides the fact that he forced him, it's that or being sent to a brothel and being raped by tons of people. Like the seme doesn't have any obligation to save the uke but he does and yes he abuses that power at times but he still treats him better than any other debtor. And then he regrets in a very convincing matter even if he doesn't know how to fix it. It's realistic and hearwrenching, because you can't go back and you're scared of losing what you have. But anyway don't blame the seme too much for just doing his job... and even being nice about it for no reason. The job is just a shitty one and he can definitely seperate 'his people' from 'the others' and treat the others shitty with no guilt. But he's crazy for uke, just doesn't realize it in time to prevent regret. More than just groveling, a good redemption arc means acknowledging your mistakes and really regretting them. The uke didn't need to yell at him and explain everything. He realized and is regretting it on his own, trying to fix things. I prefer action over just apologizing and groveling, and next week they're gonna have their heart to heart. His redemption has happened without the uke complaining or fighting and that make it's way better in my opinion. Definitely read it
Yes, I read the book and there is rape/sa/non-con in it. And yes, I like the story, but I will NEVER recommend a rape/sa/non-con story to anyone and I hate people that reccomend rape/sa/non-con stories to others. People should decide themselves whether or not they read these stories. So, it is embarassing to see the long-ass comment by @nipsy all in an effort to justify the rape/sa/non-con to someone who is clearly reluctant to read the story. Just cringe.
What lol?? I have never recommend anything I read to anyone. I don’t judge myself or judge anybody else for what they read. I just said sex for money is a transaction not SA or grape. And this book doesn’t contain SA or grape this was a contact. Don’t like it, don’t read it. Is someone putting a pew pew to your head, telling u to read lol
I actually wasn't replying to you. I was replying to @nipsy who in their exact words said, "...His redemption has happened without the uke complaining or fighting and that make it's way better in my opinion. Definitely read it". I disagree with people recommending controversial stories with rape/sa/dubcon to others through dubious justifications like this. It's cringey and weird.
some of you are so wrong and aren’t able to be transparent about a triggering story
it’s okay to find stories with heavy rape uncomfortable BUT it’s also okay to still read stories with heavy rape. no one is being put on a pedestal if you dislike/like the webtoon. op was asking about if this contains sa and it’s not an exaggeration to say it was extremely brutal and the redemption arc was not as good as it’s made out to be. HOWEVER to say this story doesn’t contain rape because of the contract is batshit insane. eui was coerced and forced to pay a debt he didn’t owe through sex!!! this is a dangerous statement, rape can happen in any point of time if a person revokes consent omfg. so please don’t try to excuse what happened to him, because consent is not a legally binding thing ever- that’s not possible… and not only that you’re leaving out what happened to eui when tj had his rut?? if someone is asking you to be upfront about if a story contains sexual abuse/assault im begging yall (you know who you are) to be honest and not lie or excuse it
Is this manhwa good cuz I hear a lot of mixed opinions like does it have SA or shit like that?
