Yeah. But the sadness doesn't end there. At the end of the story, she gets to meet actual Yvonne, who was still a child, in her dreams. I believe she died young.
Penelope also gets to meet her family in past life. Her body was in coma, and was hospitalized with her brothers and father regretting the way they treated her. She talks with them coldly, letting them know that she's happier there, and pulls the cord.
It's because she isn't the real Ivonne, well the body it is but the soul is different.
She was possessed when she was kidnapped. The goal of the evil soul is marry with Callisto so it can have access to the dragon behind the palace, stole the dragon's power and put the world in caos.
The guy with white hair is a copy since the real one is in a different dimension making the time reset again and again with the hope each time can be different.
The thing is, Penny is the only one with that ancient blood (and magic) capable of defeat the evil entity, but each time the entity prevails (using all kinds of means, including brainwashing and framing Penny) the real Penny died so many times that her soul shattered, and our Penny has a piece of the original soul.
I had to take a mental break from this one for a while. But is it worth re reading? What's Yvonne's deal?
