I have finished reading the novel and trust yall, it gets worse. But I would say the ending is perfect since not everything is rainbow and sunshines. MC and ML ends up but not because ML changed (he's trying but he's a literal psychopath so sometimes, he still abuses MC) but because MC realizes that no matter how many times he tries to run away or try to hate ML, there's an invisible string that's pulling him back and not able to get out of this misery so he just decided to stay.
Love that ending because it's not just "ML changed, MC forgives, boom, happy family" it goes "ML tries to change but still has psychopathic tendencies, MC doesn't forgives and try to hate him but no matter how much he tries; he still loves him, MC just accepting that he will always be in the abyss and stays, both try to heal little by little"
NOVEL ENDING SPOILER-
Haewon: "Is it really going to be okay? You love me, right...?" Haeyoung: "Yes, everything's going to be okay. I'm sorry that I was too late to realize that I loved you all the way back then." And Haewon has a big smile on his face and he just hugs Haeyoung who's covered in scars of atonement. Haewon knows that life is still difficult but that they have to keep moving forward and eventually heal little by little. They laugh together in the midst of destroyed houseware. The sounds that were mixed together and was unknown whether they were laughing or crying were trapped in the cellar containing the past. In our little house where the door is always open but you can't get out. There was no way out of the dilemma of long ago. So now it's time to start a new game. A game with no winners or losers until the end.
I actually concur with that ending, I was kinda expecting it, seeing what kind of personality uke and top has, bec irl most abused stay with their abusers. Sad but true.
I already checked and it starts from volume 2 chapter 8, you were so close since volume 2 ends at chap 9 then volume 3 starts, THANK YOOUUU either way kainess
Youre welcome!! I hope you can power through the novel!!
