It actually doesn't have anything to do with yaoi. Its a term from bdsm and it's exclusive of the submissive.
In bdsm the dom always has to be mindful of aware of what theyre doing, even if they're enjoying the moment they still need to be cautious of their actions and their partner's reactions. Meanwhile the sub gives all control to the dom and "let's themselves go" and trust their partners.
