is there an explanation on why bl manhuas or manhuas in general are so slow burn/phasing?

i think since manhuas came from china and with that, they are very strict when it comes explicit stuff. not sure tho:((

my guess is it's cuz of Chinese censorship

First, money, more episodes more ca - ching so they drag the whole story.
Second, in general, chinese drama is always long, because they’re like soap opera.
But if you find a good manhua adapted from Novel, normally they’re good even if its long.

the economic side aside, from what i noticed, they like to get really detailed. and quite repeatitive. like even the extras get a lot of screen time. the villains had unusually long ass scene, they like to drag everything. thats why sometimes they have the most indepth depiction of, for example, feelings. and they also like to repeat plot. like the mc repeatedly getting bullied in 99 diff situations (get baited, then bullied, then mc magically overcome the situation, then repeat)
