And yes he didn't feel right, esp in the beginning when the bros where described: that the King chose the younger because he's a better leader, I thought Ars' dad will fight under the chosen son's banner.
He was supposed to. But unfortunately their land is under the eldest son's territory. So they don't have much of a choice since they're only a small land.

In there, Mirielle's brother worked for him and it didn't seems that he had a small land. But once again, it was a random chapter much further from the actual chapters in the novel. So I could be wrong
