Agree with you, omegaverse is one of the AUs I truly like cuz there can be wholesome and cute moments that often manga and manhwa don't apply... Which is a such a shame cuz it can go beyond heats/ruts or pheromones... :/
Idk if yall have read this, but this is one example of an omegaverse that HAS CHEMISTRY (its pretty short tho). Halfway thru it, I forgot it was an omegaverse. Infact its a shonen ai, which is crazy

agreed! & a lot of the good ones out there are really angsty. they're amazing in their own right but i sometimes want one that's purely romance with great chemistry(づ￣ ³￣)づ
One thing that omegaverse stories often lack is romance, i think. The plots basically skip over any normal relationship milestones so that makes it harder to build up chemistry.
Case in point, the last line of this chapter, “you will only be having sex with me” is kinda dry in my opinion.
