He hurt Slen first
Literally all he had to do was not be a jerk and he couldn’t be bothered, though I do consider Toguto to be a case of trauma projecting trauma. Still, he should have known better. It doesn’t take a genius to understand that he said very upsetting things to a person who had only cared for him.

Slen deserved better. Bodoma even tried to convince Slen that deep down Toguto was a good guy, only to have him spit in both their faces.
What he said was not only insulting to Slen but to every white hart that ever came into the palace-- whether they were happy or not. He deserved to have his punk ass tossed around by Bodoma and Slen.
I don't agree with everything Slen did, either. Tbh they deserve each other. But to say that Toguto deserved better is fucking hilarious when it was Slen who was hurt first. He was genuinely in love with Toguto and still very innocent at the time and the lil shit crushed his heart for no reason other than he was throwing a temper tantrum.
