I think he definitely had some weird sick obsession with kiritaka and is probably not doing anything to prevent his friends from dying because he is angry kiritaka died (be gets angry every time one of his friends brings up kiritaka). Either way whether he wanted kiritaka to die or not he's still a sick freak
