I dont think jj is asking for space but a clean break up.
Bottom is not for relationship. In real life, JJ is that friend you want their bf to breakup with because you know that they are toxic, their bf the type to message at 2 am if they're awake and asking them to come over. And your friend being dumb would happily do so.
In chapter 7, he said maybe because they're always together, he thought having some distance would make it better but he was just expecting for nothing.
And he's so eager to answer the phone when he saw Leo is calling. It seems to me that he's expecting Leo to call him, asks for forgiveness, and for them to get back together and start a new.
But how can Leo asks for forgiveness if he has no clue why they break up? JJ said they will talk once he's sober but he's nowhere to be found the next morning. The last thing he said is he's breaking up with Leo.
I mean Leo is stupid but JJ is also stupid. And what I really want to know is if cool off is a thing in other countries as well. Is cool off a thing in your place?
That's all I wanted to know. I don't care about Leo and JJ cuz obviously this story will be about them getting mature and getting back together or if there's a twist which I doubt about it, they will mature but without each other for real.
Yeah a nice deep talk and reflection on Leo could 100% percent get them back together because Leo really think he did nothing wrong so we’re just gonna wait on that

i cant speak for other places but in the US we call it "a break" not breaking up but taking some time to give each other space. tho ppl have different definitions of a break even here so sometimes that can mean your still exclusive but not actively seeing each other or that your still together but giving each other permission to see other people for a bit. I think that's what JJ should have done too instead of cutting the relationship completely since he clearly still has deep feelings for leo
Oh, so in "break" even if your exclusive you can asks permission to your partner to see other people or it is automatic that if you asks for a break you can see other people?
In here, PH, you can asks for a distance but seeing other people is a big no-no!

Yeah in the US it’s pretty common to just not ask your partner that your taking a break with if you can see other people
It’s usually done but there’s common sense that you and your partner are not over and you shouldn’t even be trying to pursue romantic relationships already
I have experience with this chat and my man had asked for a break and I immediately thought we we’re over and I asked my friends and everyone said yeah but me nd my man weren’t done lol and we did not whatsoever see anybody else

it honestly depends person to person! which is why taking a break without communicating your expectations of what that means can sometimes lead to the downfall of a relationship

I mean if JJ just needed space or distance, he should asked for a cool off cuz for me break up is break up. Never going back together again.
So when JJ said he thought distance will make a difference so he decided to break up confused me. So I asked if cool off is not a thing there. Cuz I can't blame Leo if that's his attitude on JJ because they're already broken up.
Leo might be having a hard time moving on because he's oblivious about their break up but at least JJ need to say something even if he doesn't listen so he will know or at least even remember what he did wrong and he can reflect on it. With that, they will have a chance to talk it out better after some distance and will eventually get back together as JJ wanted but that didn't happen so suck it all up JJ.
This is just my opinion in the matter but that doesn't mean I favored Leo more or something. Both of them is the problem. It's the break up thing that making me "ugh" (I don't know the word iykyk)
