Yeah, respecting his parents is one thing, but he was still very small when his parents died, he needed and still needs the safety of stability and being a foster kid doesnt give that. He obviously feels extremely insecure about his position in the family - he feels like a burden and like he's owing them everything so he cant be relaxed at all. For sure the author didnt make him their adopted kid because some readers are extremely sensisitve about such things and even if he was adopted they would still call them out on matching step siblings.
That makes sense, some readers do get very sensitive. Already seen some comments that went "ew they are brothers". =w=;; I wonder if people understand the main reason sibling/cousin relationship is taboo because offspring from people with similar genetic tend to produce babies with defects.
Anyways I still love this Manhua a lot, is a breath of fresh air.
Am I the only one that find the dad weird. First he doesn’t adopt lele properly with some weird excuse that lele’s parents are great people (Like so what). If anyone forgot Lele is part of foster system—he isn’t officially adopted. Now we find out that the dad also doesn’t want Lele to call his wife mom. I would understand if Lele is too old for that but he went under their care when he was very young. Imagine a a child younger than 8 not being able to call anyone mom and dad.
I know the author probably trying to use it as a way for him to be married into the family later but still comes off weird
