It was bestseller( info from goodreads) and has good number of ratings in goodreads. I think it was popular among those who read novels, have certain tastes and like to explore. People who just read bl comics or what’s trending and haven’t explored stuff from other countries miss out some good stuff. Also, the stuff was a bit dark, so it might not be everyone’s cup of tea. I read in a group there was manga adaptation of it too.
Unfortunately no, its about master-slave dynamic with a bit of s&m theme. I think the ML is a defeated war general turned slave merch and MC is a prince who became his owner. Even tho there's a lot of sexual stuff happening around them cause owning a slave is sort of bragging rights of the nobility, it took a while for them to actually develop romantically and so the deed.
It was extremely extremely popular when it first came out, I remember everyone was reading and talking about it. Though it was also talked about in terms of liking it and in terms of the themes being... not as good for like the lgbt community. I've personally never read it, just observed that ppl have said.
Not omegaverse. It’s historical, political, war setting novel series (a triology). Seme is very powerful as a warrior and popular leader. ML is betrayed and sent over as a slave to MC. Uke initially hate seme and wanted to take revenge on him coz of a reason. There are political machinations and twists. And it’s a slow burn. So romance and sexual stuff happens in book 2 and onwards.
Top/seme being captured or held captive by the enemy nation…this situation reminded me of the gay novel “The Captive Prince” by CS Pacat. Read it years ago. It was good.
