And even tho it's in a mecha society it's still somehow relatable. Like how the mc(from earth) is struggling in his university full of talented ppl(that caters to ppl across the universe) and is working part time jobs in case he doesn't require for a scholarship. Like the story premise can be just like any other story but it's the setting/environment that's refreshing.
My guess is bc their main audience is Korean, most for the BLs genre rn, so it might be bc of the weird backlash Korean readers often have on new stories from previously unknown authors with weirder concepts
If you can access Naver, the site where the author would often introduces their new stories, yea they're hella critical there I've seen some author's concept got drilled to death
I like it so much when stories are in such a futuristic setting that involves intergalactic societies and the standards for normalcy are different from my current reality. Like a person with 5 different bodies due to space time dilation? Pregnancy possible regardless of biological sex? Lordship of different planets? Hahaha it's so fun! Why aren't more stories like that huh? What's stopping these authors
