…So half of the story I suppose? Or more like about how it was resolved? I understand that picking up music as a career is an important decision. It’s just that for 20 chapters, and what seems like a few months/weeks in the story, we got almost nooo interactions between Ueno and Sato, just some miscommunication trope. And then it was all finished off with just one concert and some beach scene?
Sato shouldn’t feel like he has to choose music because he will loose his lover, if he doesn’t. And even though in the end, he chose music for music I guess, I still felt disappointed that he didn’t even admit his fears to his bf and get reassurance. More so, he was told he has to “work harder at music so Rotsu will wish to play for him”. If Sato’s doubts were so important, that it got dragged out for half of the story, it’s a pity that Ueno never even learned WHY Sato was so anguished about that choice. Especially that it all stems from past relationship trauma.
And there is another thing - after we were done with the side couples’ love stories (which I loved, not mad about them getting so much attention), I was hoping we will get to see some cosy moments of our main couple. Some people are complaining about the story being centered around Sato, and while I didn’t mind his role, I think that this feeling might come from the fact, that it feels like we didn’t really see much of ritsufuyu after they got together? They started to date and after that, they just became a side couple. And even when the plot centered back to them, they were apart and going through a poorly handled turmoil. I feel soooo unsatisfied~ Idk how to explain this feeling of something LACKING but even just the fact that we saw literally all of the couples getting intimate (even the ex ones), except from the main one. And I don’t mean it in a creepy or horny way, just that after all of those funny crickets thoughts, I was so curious about what’s the vibe going to be between them and how will Ritsu handle being less experienced.
Feels like at certain point I was just rushing through the chapters, waiting for this misunderstanding to be finished, and it never ended until the end of the whole story. So I didn’t really enjoy the story, waiting for SOMETHING to happen or get resolved, and then got disappointed, left with a “that’s it?” thought.
