Uke's goal and reason for living is to take down the guy he's working for and all the corrupt people helping him.
I can't recall him saying he could leave whenever he wanted, but sure - he probably could. But they would chase after him and his boss would continue to destroy innocent ppl - now including his friends. Also, we can't really trust anything the uke says as an adult. His whole character is very deceptive
Tbf It’s like thinly vailed rape and torture porn trying to be deep. People manage to think that it has some plot because the art is good and the characters show emotions. For more experienced readers it’s pretty obvious what it really is. Trash. You may try to defend it, but you can’t change what it is. The plot doesn’t make much sense, it keeps going in circles, characters don’t really get developed. Overall it may have had some potential but author sacrificed everything else to include the rape and torture porn.
