She died 3 years ago from her illness. They just never got the death certificate so they could marry the bastard prince to a dead duke's daughter and then the duke planned to marry his blonde daughter to the emperor. Although I'm not sure the blonde is his actual daughter, she might be from the slums given she and Licht were in the slums together as children for one scene and I can't imagine why else she'd be there.

i initially came for the smut but it just pains me so much when i see two sisters drifting apart from each other. although adela is most likely dead already, i wanna know her story and what brought her letters to remain unsent. im certain that she mustve went through a lot given that she's terminally ill while being confined in a room without the ability to speak freely to ella, even with letters.
