Yeowoon's life story was basically based off of Myungha, their original lives were both miserable. Myungha committed suicide by drowning himself near the sea where his mother opened a café, he did so after visiting his mother and her rejecting him as her son.
That's actually sad :( but I'm glad that's how things will turn out soon for Myungha and Yeonwoon

It is actually kinda like that, after committing suicide his sunbae gave him a second chance at life by putting him in a game since he regretted his death and how miserable his life was. His sunbae thought that if he learned how to love someone who was as miserable as him (Yeowoon) then he'd come to learn how to love himself.

Novel, both are adapted from it
The whole point of this story is actually for Myungha to learn how to love and value himself. The "novel" that he read isn't real, nor is he alive.. Myungha had already died and the "sunbae" that sent him there is some sort of grim reaper. By the end of the series, the mission is no longer "Make Cha Yeowoon happy" instead Yeowoon picks up the system and finds the memories of Myungha's misery and the system declares "Please make Tae Myungha happy".
