They aren't siblings, not even step siblings. They were never raised to be siblings. So it's not gross or anything, Dietrich never saw Anissa as he sister as he knew right from the start she wasn't family. The whole point of Lagrange was to steal children with abilities and make them compete for the spot of the Ducal position. No one was brought in to be treated as siblings

It’s true he knew the truth and she knew the truth, but they both were unaware that the other was aware. So they grew up believing that the other one thought of them as a sibling.
So, it’s more about the genre and feeling like it lacks certain moral aspects: I, insertbratwurst, as an adopted child, know my brother isn’t biologically related to me- but if I developed romantic feelings for the brother my parents raised me together with, it would honestly be pretty messed up.
Just knowing you aren’t related doesn’t justify sibling to romance type love relationships- fyi in the real world adopted siblings can’t get married unless they petition to the court to be removed from their family legally.
Still, if that kind of story is your thing, then it’s your thing. People have different and diverse tastes. Heck, there’s an entire genera based around men raping men… omegaverse? Still, the point is- if you like it, then fine.
