To answer your first part... cus they are legit brainwashed right now by charm magic.
Second part I'm curious to find out too. Maybe the og had this ability already (to an extent) but never used it cus she didn't need to/want to.
the story is okay, it's just that i don't like that the people around the saint is going around like they have been brainwashed and are not thinking straight
there's also the fact that the mc is gifted but the og wasn't which puts into question why or how its different but overall its okay
